WHY NATURAL MATTERS
Since the dawn of humankind, we have been searching for tools to aid our well-being and quality of life. In the interim we have built all kinds of technologies to create all kinds of human-made products and while some growing needs get met, there are others being forgotten.
We have come from a time when our forebears harvested everything from the Earth with as little to no processing as possible; to now find ourselves where everything is a manufactured product - even our food is now genetically modified and patented. We are all responsible for this push and cult of product.
When Nature births a product, it comes with an in-built balance for its size, taste and other qualities, for the countless reasons humans are yet to discover or understand. Indeed, the only thing we can say for sure is that Nature itself is and represents the highest of intelligence. In order to get more than what Nature provides, something has to be changed by humans in order to get the extra taste, power or quality we are desiring. This desire is at the root cause of the imbalances in nature and within us.
It is commonly exclaimed that “You are what you eat!” and a connection is straightforward to make that in order to be healthy, you need to eat healthy, natural foods. But even that does not get at the heart of the issue. There are further questions to address that occur outside of your mouth when considering the farming of the natural foods, whether pesticides were used and how the soil is replenished among countless other concerns. Such is the dance of Nature within and between organisms that everything is connected and makes a difference to the overall quality of being and life.
It is less commonly noted but just as important that the products you put on your body can have a significant impact on your health. Examples of commonly manufactured products are deodorants and anti-perspirants that you can find in your local store. Self-conscious beings that we are, we will spray or roll-on toxic chemicals under our armpits where important glands are being poisoned and pores blocked to stop sweat and body odour – which doesn't fix the issue and may exacerbate or create more. It is such a common concern for people that there are hundreds of deodorant brands, all with different kinds of claims and at different price points.
It takes a really conscious person to desire what is optimum and not go with the herd by avoiding the cheapest, mass-produced choice and we have entered the arena to give such people an option.
